Best Place to Stop and Smell the Roses

Did you know that 20% of the country’s rose bushes come from Tyler, Texas? That’s why the east Texas city is known as the “Rose Capital of the U.S” and is also home of the annual Texas Rose Festival, held each October.

The best time to see Tyler’s famous roses is in mid-October, during the Rose Festival, when the flowers are in full bloom. Our favorite place to “stop and smell the roses” is at the Tyler Municipal Rose Garden, where 38,000 rose bushes span 14 acres, making it the largest rose garden in the nation.
