This morning, hundreds of people made the dash to the opening of the new Dallas location of The Rack, and the results are good. When the clock struck 9 o’clock the doors opened. The employees cheered and clapped their hands as the manager personally greeted everyone to the brand new store (Nordstrom truly is all about the customer). I just received this picture from the morning event. Thursday is the GRAND opening of Nordstrom Rack in Dallas (just down the road from our offices, yes!). If you haven’t heard, you’ve got to be there early…like 8:30 a.m. early. One person will win a $1000 shopping spree, but you only have 90 seconds to shop that morning, one time only. I know, this is a lot of pressure but I have full confidence that the women of Dallas will have no problem swiping up $1000 worth of goods in 90 seconds. I’m just sayin’. But if you’re not picked-no worries- the first 1000 customers will receive a Nordstrom Rack tote bag as a gift with their opening day purchase. And, It won’t to be hard to find something to buy. Neimans, Macy’s, Dillard’s and Nordstrom will be giving away luxury makeup and perfume ($175 million worth to be exact). If you bought cosmetics from these retailers from May 29, 1994 – July 16 2003 then you qualify, but you don’t have to have your receipt. This is all due to a class-action lawsuit. These stores did not have enough sales and prices were fixed on certain beauty items, etc get the details here.
