The First Friday Film Series at the Palace Theater

The Palace Theater in Grapevine Texas is a restored 1940’s art-deco style building and a gem to Historic Main Street! Visit the theater this month for the First Friday Films. Admission is $7.50, and if you make it date by dining at any Grapevine restaurant, bring in the receipt to receive $2.50 off the admission price! Discount is not valid for tickets purchased online. However, if you do purchase your tickets online,  still bring in your receipt from a Grapevine restaurant and your popcorn is on the house…what a deal! Here’s the schedule:

Date in Grapevine: DIY Blown Glass Hearts & Flowers for VDay!

We love this idea! Take your sweetie to Vetro Art Glass in Grapevine where you can make your very own glass heart or flower for Valentine’s Day!

It’s $25 to make a flower and $35 to make a heart, and you can choose your colors, apply the color to the molten glass and (if you’re 16 or over) you can heat the molten glass in the furnace. The Vetro experts will take it from there to ensure your creation is picture perfect!

The event is available Fridays & Saturdays 10am-5pm & Sundays noon-4pm thru February 14.

*Remember, your creation will have to cool for 24 hours, so take that into account if you’re planning on gift-giving.

Calling All Art Lovers: Attend The Fredericksburg Art Walk

What are you doing this weekend?  We must tell you about the First Friday Fredericksburg Art Walk (happening August, 7). The first Friday of every month, ten fine art galleries stay open until 8 pm so you can visit, shop and stroll the various events and exhibitions throughout the day.

The star artists this month is native Texan, Chuck Mauldin. Look for his colorful oil paintings of all sizes including 12 – 6×8 miniatures.

Fredericksburg also boasts some of the Best Retail in a Small town as well as some great wine! Wine bars are located throughout Main Street, stop in a sip some Texas wine.

Ya Herd?

Since 1999, the Cattle Drive in Fort Worth has hoofed it daily. Once at 11:30 am and again at 4:00 pm.

Tomorrow, June 13, is the 10th Anniversary of the Fort Worth Herd Cattle Drive at the Downtown Stockyards. Join ‘em for a special drive along the Trinity River. The Fort Worth Star-Telegram states, “about, 500,000 people have attended the cattle drives.”

First LEGO Store in DFW to Open at Stonebriar Centre

A new reason to take the kids to the mall is the opening of the LEGO store at Stonebriar Centre on May 15 – the first in Dallas/Ft. Worth! Grand opening weekend kicks off with lots of events for kids and parents:

Friday, May 15th the store will open with LEGO Master Builder Dan Steininger, who will build an eight-foot tall R2-D2 (continues Saturday and Sunday).

Saturday, May 16 the first 300 customers at the LEGO store to spend $35 or more will receive a free, exclusive LEGO set designed exclusively for the Stonebriar Grand Opening.

Sunday, May 17 learn tips and tricks straight from the Master Builder Dan Steininger. Also, the first 300 customers at the new LEGO store on Sunday will receive a free children’s LEGO t-shirt with a $35 purchase.
