The Texas Stampede at the State Capitol

The SAT team was Austin-bound this week! Our first order of business was stopping at the State Capitol to see the Texas Stampede art exhibit at the rotunda, showcasing new works by 36 Texas artists. It will only be there a few more days, then the artwork is heading to the Insight Gallery in Fredericksburg. Here’s  a sampling of some of the great art on display!

Cool Finds at The Shops of River Center Square in Waco

On our recent road trip to Waco, we stopped at The Shops of River Center Square, where we found some pretty cool stuff ranging from jewelry to home decor:

$2 jewelry? Yes, please.

Love, love, love these cool domino wall hangings!

With sayings like “Oops…I forgot to be good” and “Don’t talk about yourself. We’ll do that once you leave,”  these sassy designs are on mugs, miniature plates, compact mirrors and business card holders. Perfect gifts!

Who wouldn’t want one of these cool vintage signs in their house?

ShopAcrossTexas Loves Waco! (Part 3)

Before we left Waco, we made sure to stop at Honey’s Home + Style, one of our favorite spots for unique home decor.

There were SO many great things here, and some of our favorites were these industrial-looking light fixtures–so unexpected and edgy!

And then we walked into the “rug room” filled with swatches from Dash & Albert. You can actually “rent out” the swatches and take them home to make sure the pattern and colors work in your room! The rugs can be custom cut to any size.

And then we spotted these fab metal signs that can also be custom designed. Our favorites were “live the life you’ve imagined” and “once upon a time.”

ShopAcrossTexas Loves Waco! (Part 2)

Next stop on our shopping tour of Waco was Bloom and Bee Swanky (One of the 45 Best Stores in Texas). We are gaga for their handmade vintage bedding, vintage print letters and vintage jewelry!

We also spied the cutest handmade onesies by Lily Parks. And there are matching tees for mom too!

ShopAcrossTexas Loves Waco! (Part 1)

The SAT team hit the road this week and Waco was among our many shopping stops. It may surprise you to hear that Waco has some truly fantastic shopping! Our first stop was The Shops at River Center Square, where we perused Spice Home Furnishings (One of the 45 Best Stores in Texas) and Blue Flamingo among others.

We are obsessed with the Spice Signature Scent Candle–we can’t all agree on exactly what it smells like, but we know we want to eat it! And the vintage-style number votives are the perfect decorative touch!

Blue Flamingo had us all drooling with its collection of cute sundresses and this crazy great hand-painted guitar! And we just died for this super-unique handmade necklace!
