Take a peek at any thrill seeker’s bucket list and you’ll see the infamous Big Bend National Park. At over 800,000 acres, Big Bend is significantly larger than California’s Yosemite National Park—not that there’s a competition or anything, but…Texas forever. The park is also famous for its extensive wildlife population, which includes mule deer, black bears, and the occasional mountain lion. Since the park has animals that can actually do some damage, it’s very important to follow all the safety rules in place. Be sure to factor in weather and the time of year when planning your visit—we recommend going during the park’s slow season to avoid the crowds.
