As one of the world’s leaders in astronomical research, The McDonald Observatory in Fort Davis is the best place to see and learn about outer space. Located in the rural Davis Mountains, you’ll have an unspoiled view of the stars thanks to the lack of light pollution in the area. The observatory offers special star parties that are great for the whole family! You can learn about the constellations that fill up the sky—these tours are offered every week Thursday – Saturday, weather permitting. These tours are open to the public, but it’s recommended that you make a reservation.
