One benefit of visiting a big city—among so many others—is instant access to a myriad of dining options. The downside is that it’s impossible to sample them all when you’re only visiting for a day or two. To ensure you don’t miss out on a culinary masterpiece when you’re in town, Dallas, Houston, and Austin have put together Culinary Tours for all of you foodies out there. These food tours always sell out, so be sure to plan ahead to reserve your spot in advance.
Austin – Austin Eats Food Tours
Austin Eats Food Tours has a little something for everyone. Choose from walking, bike/van, partner or special food tours with ticket prices starting at $69 a person. Austin Eats Food Tours partners with over 80 local restaurants and food trailers, so each tour includes a stop at 6 to 8 local eateries. Gather your friends and find the tour that best suits your style.
Dallas – Food Tours of Dallas
Food Tours of Dallas, presented by Food Tours of America, center around pedestrian-friendly Uptown. Tour prices range from $49 per person for a two-hour tour to an $85/person customized 3.5-hour tour for up to four people. Food highlights include Truffled Hand Cut Fries, a BBQ Brisket nacho topped with a Pineapple Pico de Gallo and a traditional Middle Eastern Lahm bil Ajeen with Pine Nuts.
Houston – Houston Culinary Tours
Be advised, the Houston Culinary Tours sell out well in advance, but at five hours long they’re well worth the wait. A $180 ticket reserves you a spot on a limo bus, complimentary Saint Arnold’s beverages—tours are 21 and up—tastings at each spot and a gift bag to take home at the end of the day. With themed tours ranging from Vietnamese and Korean to Seafood and Vegetarian, the number of tasting locations vary from tour to tour.
