2023 April Events in Texas
Mark your calendars! We’ve rounded up the best April events happening across Texas from bluebonnet festivities in Central Texas to Easter egg hunts in Beaumont, El Paso, and beyond.
Fredericksburg – Wildflower Celebration
When: April 1 – 16, 9:30am – 6pm
Come to the largest wildflower farm in the country and enjoy viewing wildflower fields in full bloom. Not to mention two Butterfly Gardens along with great shopping, wine tasting, food, and refreshments!
Beaumont – YMBL South Texas State Fair
When: April 1 – 2 (started on March 23)
The YMBL South Texas State Fair & Rodeo brings thousands of visitors to Beaumont each spring with food, entertainment, and, of course, carnival rides. Don’t miss the PRCA’s Championship Rodeo showcasing the country’s top cowboys and cowgirls.
Austin – ABC Kite Fest
When: April 1
Soar into spring and join thousands of Austinites for a free, all-day event filled with kite making, flying and gazing. Plus, bring the kiddos out for MossFest, a children’s music concert!
Houston – 10th Annual Houston Barbecue Festival
When: April 2, 1pm – 4pm
Your favorite barbecue joints are back under one tent, as well as several new and up-and-coming places making their first festival appearance. Is anyone hungry?
Plano – Pet Photos 2023
When: April 3, 4pm – 7pm
Each pet will receive a goodie bag with treats, a toy, and a bandana with the purchase of a photo package. Perfect for dog and cat parents!
Burnet – 40th Annual Bluebonnet Festival
When: April 7 – 9
Bluebonnets are in full bloom this month, so you won’t want to miss the legendary annual Bluebonnet Festival in Burnet, Texas. Once you attend, you’ll be hooked for years to come. It’s basically a Texan’s rite of passage!
Waxahachie – Scarborough Renaissance Festival
When: April 8 – May 29
Scarborough is a Renaissance-themed festival set in a re-created 16th Century English village. Celebrations include live performances, unique vendors, fun games, thrilling rides, delicious foods (giant turkey legs, we’re looking at you), and so much more.
Beaumont – Easter Egg Hunt at the John Jay French Museum
When: April 8, 1pm – 2:30pm
Thousands of eggs will be filled with treats and even a few special prize tickets! Snap a pic with the Easter Bunny, make a craft, tour the first floor of the French home, and enjoy the egg hunt with four separate areas divided by age group – including one for the littlest egg hunters!
Dallas – The Boho Market at The Hill
When: April 8, 9am – 2pm
Meet The Boho Market and a variety of unique, one-of-a-kind vendors for a day of supporting small and local businesses! Now that’s how we like to celebrate the weekend.
El Paso – EGGSTRAVAGANZOO
When: April 8 – 9, 10am – 4pm
The Easter Bunny is rushing on his way to bring eggs on Easter Day! Come and visit your Zoo animal friends, take a picture with the Easter Bunny, enjoy live performances, hop in for special egg-tivities, and learn facts about animals and the eggs they lay from a EPZ egg-ucator.
El Paso – Water Lantern Festival
When: April 8, 4:30pm – 8pm
Watch your unique lantern drift out into the water as it joins other lanterns carrying hope, love, happiness, healing, peace, and connection. It’s a night you’re sure to remember!
Grapevine – Jazz Wine Train
When: April 14, 21, and 28
Expect live jazz entertainment, assorted hors d’oeuvres, dessert, and a souvenir wine glass with wine tastings from Grapevine tasting rooms. This experience will ensure a trip back in time.
Richardson – CityLine Night Market + Live Music
When: April 14
Enjoy a night of live music as you stroll through an assortment of local vendors and artisans. Pro tip: grab a bite to eat at one of CityLine’s 30+ restaurants and grab a patio table at Fernando’s Mexican Cuisine or Good Union Urban BBQ to take in the tunes.
Fredericksburg –Fredericksburg Bluebonnet Festival
When: April 15 and 22, 12pm – 4pm
Come see the wildflowers and Bluebonnets along the roadsides leading to Bankersmith for some Insta-worthy photo ops. One fun-filled day of wine, wildflowers, beautiful countryside, live music, vendors, and delicious food. Sound like our kinda getaway!
Waxahachie – Antique Alley
When: April 15th | Downtown Waxahachie
Explore endless antiques at one of our favorite shopping events of the year! The possibilities are seriously endless with something for everyone.
Pearland – Fifth Annual Puranava Indian Art & Culture Fest
When: April 15, 4pm – 8pm
This unique art and culture fest showcases Indian classical dances, folk music, visual arts, and opportunities to try it all out for yourself! Shop for ethnic Indian wear, jewelry, and crafts at the bazaar and don’t miss the chance to taste authentic dishes from an assortment of cuisines.
Fredericksburg – Lavender Fest at Becker Vineyards
When: April 15 – 16, 110am – 5pm
A celebration of Lavender! This two-day April event features lavender luncheons, Texas artisan vendors, art, food and wine pairings, live music, and more.
Waxahachie – Crossroads of Texas Film & Music Festival
When: April 20 – 22
