Saturday is the time to check out one or both of the breweries in Pearland. Bakfish Brewing Co. is a micro-brewery open 7 days a week with a large covered patio and a 2,000 square foot tap room. They have food trucks on site, but outside food is welcome. Also local to Pearland is Vallensons’ Brewing Company. Family-owned by Valle with hopes that his two sons will one day work alongside him, hence the pronunciation: Val-N-sons. This is a must-try on your weekend trip because they are only open Friday – Sunday. Fun fact: this isn’t Valle’s full-time occupation; he can be found working hard at the NASA space center during the week and the brewery has become his weekend hobby. Both breweries are family – and dog – friendly so bring the whole crew to enjoy.
Now that you’ve worked up an appetite, head over to Killen’s BBQ. This isn’t just any ordinary barbecue, Killen’s has been named Food Network’s #2 Top BBQ and Texas Monthly’s #Top50BBQ. This is as good as it gets!
