In traversing the state in pursuit of the latest and greatest in Texas retail, all in the name of assembling the 2017 Best Stores in Texas list, we came across some true standouts in the realm of home décor. It would be downright selfish of us not to share these gems with you, so read on for our editors’ top picks.

We would be remiss not to start with Magnolia Market in Waco, brainchild of none other than HGTV star Joanna Gaines. You don’t need big bucks to hire Joanna as your decorator—just shop at Magnolia Market instead. Simple Things Furniture in Fort Worth and My Favorite Room in McKinney continue to hold onto their spots on our annual list because, quite frankly, they continue to curate darn beautiful collections, resulting in the perfect eclectic mix.

Out west in El Paso, the original El Paso Imports is the crown jewel of the state’s nine locations, known for its warehouse finds and one-of-a-kinds. Of course, High Fashion Home in Houston delivers top-notch upscale contemporary collections year after year, but—believe it or not—we’ve spotted outposts in smaller cities like Midland and Kerrville (see: Hyacinth for the Home and Schreiner Goods Home, respectively) that could hold their own against these big city names any day.
