If you’ve ever had wine made in Texas, then there’s a very good chance that it contained grapes grown in Lubbock. With 7,000 acres of vineyards, this region is responsible for 80% of the state’s wine grapes. Winemakers in this area have always been known as movers and shakers when it comes to wine. Lubbock is home to five unique wineries that we feel are some of the best in the state!

Llano Estacado Winery is recognized as the largest and best-selling in Texas. As one of the first to start experimenting with different grapes, you’ll be able to try some original creations. Lubbock not only has unique wineries, but they also have plenty of dining options famous for their Texas flare.

Dr. Clinton “Doc” McPherson of McPherson Cellars is also known as the one of the “Fathers of Texas Wine” as he was the first the first grape grower in Texas to plant Sangiovese, now a signature Texas wine. And yes, the wines at McPherson Cellars are just as legendary as the name.

Ready to raise a glass? Burklee Hill Vineyards, Farmhouse Vineyards and English Newsom Cellars are all in the top contenders of the best in the Lubbock area.
