We’re Rooting For You!

If you’ve noticed your pesky gray hairs peeking through, place an order for this L’Oreal Paris Magic Root Cover Up spray to hold you over until you can snag an appointment with your stylist. It’s also highly likely you already have a solve in your makeup kit! Pick up one of your neutral eye shadow palettes and find a shadow that matches your hair color. Dip your eye shadow brush into the shade of your choice, and rub the shadow into your roots. If you’re a raven-haired beauty, you could use a dark brow gel or mascara to keep the silver strands subdued.

Nailed It!

We’re all missing our manicurists more than ever, but don’t fret! You don’t have to jeopardize the health of your nails while at home. Before you result to chewing or peeling off your dip powder mani, try this method of removal:

Tools Needed:

  • Nail file
  • Cotton balls
  • Acetone
  • Small bowl (optional)
  • Foil (optional)

Instructions:

  1. File down the topcoat with a nail file, using back and forth motions, moving side to side across the top of the nail. Stop once you’re able to almost see through to your natural nail. Wipe off the powder dust.
  2. Apply acetone-soaked cotton balls to your nails, and wrap them with foil to keep the cotton in place. This will help the acetone permeate the remaining powder, dissolving its bond. If your cabinets are low on foil or cotton balls, simply soak your nails in a small bowl of acetone for 10-15 minutes, covering the bowl with a towel.
  3. Once you’ve given your nails a thorough soak, file down any remaining powder.
  4. Repeat the process until all powder is removed from the nail. Wash your hands, apply a strengthening top coat, and be sure to moisturize, as acetone can dry out the skin!
