The Chestnut Tree has been Denton’s favorite teahouse and bistro since 1994. Barley and Board, Denton’s first brewpub, quickly caught our attention and that of the locals with their authentically styled pub and restaurant, located on the historic Downtown Square. Incorporating Denton’s history in the pub, their building’s brick walls from the 1925 Texas Building are proudly displayed, while the atmosphere is laced with rooted industrial era style in their reclaimed wood bars and tables, distressed leathers, and metal light fixtures. Their menu was created by Executive Chef Chad Kelley, former chef for Meddlesome Moth, which offers “New American Cuisine,” and an array of small and large plates reflecting the style and taste of the pub.
