On 180,000 acres spanning across two states is the historic Pitchfork Ranch. Since opening in 1883, the ranch has always been owned and operated by the William family. Throughout the years, the ranch has survived depression, drought, and the ever-changing ranch life. Although the Pitchfork Ranch has adapted with the times, it still maintains the traditions it was built on. One of its most well known traditions is its signature horse called the “Pitchfork Grey,” which is a grey horse with a black mane. The ranch also hosts guided hunts throughout the property—they have an impressive stock of white-tailed deer and some mule deer.
