There’s no place like home for the holidays, but sometimes going home isn’t possible. With crazy-expensive plane tickets, hours of driving and a busy schedule, it can be difficult to make it home for thanksgiving. Luckily there’s a solution: Friendsgiving. Gather your besties and check out our guide to having the best Friendsgiving ever.
Send Invites.
After you’ve made your guest list, DIY some paper invites or create a Facebook event so your friends can easily RSVP. Make sure you get a head count beforehand—you want to make sure there’s enough food for everyone!
Go Potluck.
Assign everyone a dish, but remember the host provides the turkey! On a budget? Go for a cheaper option like turkey sandwiches or a casserole. Remember to have someone bring plates, cups, utensils and napkins, too!
Decorate.
Enlist a buddy to help decorate and head to the craft store to pick up faux fall flowers, pretty wreaths and festive décor.
Think Beyond the Meal.
Friendsgiving is more than just food, so break out the board games once your meal is over!
Be Thankful.
Don’t forget to take time to be thankful. Put away your phone, enjoy the company of friends and tell your besties just how much you love ‘em!
