State Fair of Texas: Tips to Know Before You Go
We can almost taste the funnel cakes and see Big Tex from here, which can mean only one thing. Whether you’re planning your hundredth trip with the family or you’re a first-timer, we’ve run down our editor’s most important tips to know before you go to the State Fair of Texas.
1. Take the DART
Nothing brings down a day at the fair like difficult parking. So avoid the Dallas traffic and long lines and take the DART Rail straight to the gate! Plus, when purchasing your DART ticket through the GoPass app, you’ll receive a $5 off promo code for Monday-Friday State Fair admission and $7 off for Saturdays and Sundays. Win, win!
2. Coupons Never Expire
You read that right! If you’ve got leftover food and ride tickets from years past, use them up this year. So get digging in those couch cushions, you might just find enough for a Corny Dog!
3. Reduced Price Rides on Tuesday
What’s not to love about Midway?! Bring on the nostalgia and make some memories with your whole group while saving money with reduced ride prices every Tuesday.
4. Reduced Price Food on Thursdays
It’s official, Thursdays are our new favorite day of the week. Prepare to save big and eat even better every Thursday of the fair with discounts on 85+ signature dishes. We’re talking all your favorites including Fritos pie, funnel cakes, fried Twinkies, and so many more.
5. Everyone Pays Kids Admission After 5pm
Live like a kid for a day! No matter your age, after 5pm everyone pays the child’s price for a ticket into the State Fair of Texas — a money saving tip that’ll give you extra $5 to spend on fried goodies!
