For over 45 years, the Pecan Street Association has been hosting the Pecan Street Festival, which is one of the largest and longest music festivals in the nation. This nonprofit organization donates its proceeds to preserving Austin’s historic 6th Street. The free, two-day festival takes place twice a year and attracts hundreds, if not thousands, of people to historic downtown Austin. Local and national artists come to display their handcrafted work in a variety of different mediums while nearly 50 of Austin’s top musical performers take the stage. Add in over 30 food trucks and you won’t want to leave.
This event typically takes place twice a year in May and September.
