Best Places to Watch College Football in Fort Worth
Everything’s bigger in Texas, and the number one example of that is our pride for college football. Every Saturday in the fall is a holiday, and if you can’t be in the stadium, a sports bar is your house of worship. Whether you’re cheering on the TCU Horned Frogs, Giggin’ the Aggies, or rooting for the state’s sacred Longhorns, every Texan is welcome to clap, scream, hoot, and holler in some of the best places to watch college football in Fort Worth.
Finally. A place with any kind of burger that you can imagine and about a thousand televisions. Fred’s Texas is a Fort Worth favorite for all things bar food and football. With three locations scattered about the city, anyone can hop on it to cheer on their favorite team. Fortunately, their drink list is even more extensive than their list of burgers and sandwiches, which makes hanging out at Fred’s for the whole game even more enjoyable.
Social House is just that…a house for social butterflies. With an extensive food menu and a wide variety of drinks, Social House provides a sports-watching environment that suits young adults and families. Located in the heart of Crockett Row at west 7th Street, the restaurant is centrally located near shops and bars that you can venture to while you wait for your table or after the game is over. Social House is without a doubt the place to watch a college football game, especially if your parents are coming to town.
Buffalo Bros, commonly referred to as “Buff Bros” by local college students, is located just off the TCU campus, making it an exciting, and sometimes rowdy, place to watch college football. With a different, money-saving special every day, customers flock to the pizza and wing dive from all over Fort Worth. The pizza, which can be purchased by the slice or by the pie, pairs perfectly with the “any-way-you-want-them” chicken wings. If you’re looking for a place to clink some glasses and split a pitcher with your crew, look no further than Buffalo Bros on University Drive.
Another dive just around the corner from TCU’s campus, The Bottom Bar & Grill, known by most locals as simply “Bottom,” is the definition of a college bar, which makes watching college football there a must. While there are not as many televisions as your typical sports bar, Bottom has a menu for all taste buds and a fully stocked bar. Bottom features your classic football foods like fried pickles and French fries, but the restaurant also boasts a weekend brunch that is hard to beat. A trip to Bottom wouldn’t be complete without ordering the bar’s famous Polliwog, which can be served frozen or on the rocks. However, warning! There is a two drink limit on those bad boys, so pace yourself throughout the game.
